What are AMD Validated Solutions?
AMD Validated Solutions (AVS) takes the guesswork out of building and selling solutions based on AMD64 technology. AVS provides validated and tested platforms that help you build high-quality, reliable commercial server solutions.

True server motherboards enable a reliable foundation that helps small- and medium-sized businesses improve employee productivity by matching platform capabilities to end-user needs. AVS server platforms eliminate unnecessary desktop-oriented features for improved system manageability and stability.

Because of our strong relationship with AMD, Tyan now offers a 1P server motherboard validated and supported through the AVS program.

What are the key attributes of AVS platforms?
AMD64 technology

Designed to enable simultaneous 32- and 64-bit
computing with no degradation in performance, AMD64 technology features:

  • Direct Connect Architecture with
    HyperTransport™ technology and an
    Integrated DDR2 Memory Controller
  • AMD Virtualization™
  • Enhanced Virus Protection*
  • Cool‘n’Quiet™ technology

Best-of-breed platform provider solutions
AMD has teamed with Tyan to offer best-of-breed commercial server solutions.

Service and support provided by AMD

  • Telephone technical support
  • Next- or second-business-day advanced motherboard exchange service (depending on your membership in the Solution Provider Program)
  • Online Solution Provider Support site
  • Concurrent motherboard replacement service (allows for multiple motherboards to be out
    at one time)

Validated and tested
AVS platforms go through a rigorous validation process by Tyan as well as AMD. This collaborative approach brings hundreds of engineers together to ensure the platforms in AVS meet rigid standards.

Commercial stable infrastructure
Stable image chipsets and drivers are the foundation
of the AVS commercial stable infrastructure. All AVS commercial server solutions adhere to a 24-month stability cycle, which begins when the platform is introduced as an AMD Validated Solution.

All of this adds up to reliable performance

*Enhanced Virus Protection (EVP) is only enabled by certain operating systems including the current versions of Microsoft Windows®, Linux®, Solaris™, and BSD Unix. After properly installing the appropriate operating system release, users must enable the protection of their applications and associated files from memory buffer overrun attacks. Contact your application software vendor for information regarding use of the application in conjunction with Enhanced Virus Protection. AMD recommends that users continue to use third-party anti-virus software as part of their security strategy.
