Tyan® refreshes Intel® Xeon processor-based
motherboard lineup with Intel® E7501 chipset -
Thunder i7501 and Tiger i7501 support latest Intel® Xeon Processors with 533MHz System Bus
Fremont, CA, November 18, 2002 - Tyan® today unveiled three server motherboards based on the new Intel®
E7501 chipset. These platforms provide the latest in high-speed system bus technology, DDR266 memory, PCI-X support, Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, and optional IPMI server management.
With support for a 533MHz
system bus, four independent PCI (-X) channels, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, Fast Ethernet port, and optional dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI, the Thunder i7501 Pro S2721-533
is aimed at OEMs and system integrators demanding peak performance and an unbeatable feature set.
Tiger i7501 S2723
provides all the robust processor and memory performance as the Thunder i7501, but is aimed at the value segment. The Tiger i7501 features a 533MHZ system bus, two independent PCI (-X) channels, Fast Ethernet port, and optional Gigabit Ethernet port. Two of the most compelling features of this platform are its ATX (12" x 9.8") form factor and universal ATX12V/EPS12V power connector.
