Tyan® introduces new Workstation Solution for the Value Market Segment - Tyan Releases High Performance ATX Platform for Dual-Intel® Xeon™ Processors

Intel Developer Forum, San Jose, CA, February 18, 2003 -
Tyan® today announced its newest workstation platform based on the Intel® E7505 chipset, the Tiger i7505 S2668 .  The platform supports two Intel® Xeon™ processors with Hyper Threading Technology, ATX12V/EPS12V power compatibility, AGP Pro 8x, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and an ATX form factor (12" x 9.6").  The Tiger i7505 edges out competition with an abundance of features at an affordable cost.

The Tiger i7505 enables a dual Intel Xeon™ processor based system to be built and maintained at a lower overall budget.  The compact dimensions of the Tiger i7505 allows it to fit into the majority of chassis, leaving the option to choose smaller and cost-efficient enclosures.  In addition, the universal power compatibility offers a choice for powering a system at a lower price with an ATX12V power supply.

AGP Pro 8x support, six channel audio, and Gigabit Ethernet LAN signifies its role as the ideal workstation platform.  AGP Pro 8x delivers optimized graphics, heightened bandwidth for increased performance, and uninterrupted streaming with faster data flow for graphics intensive applications.  The entertainment environment also becomes fuller and immersive with six-channel audio. Finally, Gigabit Ethernet LAN and Intel's Hyper Threading Technology provide faster response times for multimedia and Internet applications by increasing the capacity to transfer and process information.

"The Tiger i7505 satisfies the major demands of a workstation at the most competitive price," said Danny Hsu, Director of Marketing at Tyan.  "It pinpoints the value workstation market with high performance features such as AGP 8x, high bandwidth, and rich audio – while still meeting the ATX (12" x 9.6") form factor."

"With its new workstation based on Intel® E7505 and Intel® Xeon Processor, Tyan is offering an excellent price/performance value to its customers," stated Hemant Dhulla, director of Enterprise Chipset Marketing at Intel's Enterprise Platforms Group.  "Hyper-Threading and AGP 8x technologies make the Tiger i7505 a compelling choice for digital content creation, MCAD or other compute intensive applications and multi-tasking."

The Tiger i7505 is currently sampling, and will reach mass production by March.
