Further enabling customers who rely on the leading-edge performance of the 64-bit AMD Opteron processor, Tyan added support for the newly released Opteron 250 for the server-class Thunder K8S Pro (S2882) , the award-winning Tiger K8W (S2875) and its 1-way counterpart, the Tiger K8WS (S2875S) , as well as to the best-selling Thunder K8W (S2885) workstation platform.

Leveraging from the high-memory bandwidth architecture with low latency, market-leading 64-bit performance, and HyperTransport™ technology integration, all of Tyan's AMD Opteron processor-based platforms offer the best in server and workstation platforms for a wide range of performance-demanding applications. The Thunder K8S Pro (S2882) delivers leading-edge server features such as dual AMD Opteron support, up to 16GB of Registered DDR400 ECC memory support, AdaptecŪ U320 SCSI, SATA RAID, PCI-X 133MHz slots, and integrated network features including (2) Gigabit and (1) 10/100 Ethernet port. The Tiger K8W (S2875) and Tiger K8WS (S2875S) both offer features for entry-level workstation and performance applications, including 2-way (S2875) or 1-way (S2875S) AMD Opteron support, support for up to 8GB of DDR400 memory, built-in Audio and Gigabit Ethernet, 8X AGP slot, SATA RAID, and FireWire ports. The Thunder K8W (S2885) delivers nothing less than full-ranging power to digital content creation, CAD/CAE, EDA, and other high-demand workstation applications, with features such as dual AMD Opteron support, 8X AGP Pro 110 slot, up to 16GB of Registered DDR400 ECC memory support, PCI-X 133MHz slots, Adaptec U320 SCSI, SATA RAID, FireWire, and built-in 6-channel audio.
