In a move to bring higher performance power to the computational needs of server
customers everywhere, Tyan®, a market leader in server and workstation platforms, launched the industry-shaking Thunder K8QS Pro (S4882). With the capability to support up to four (4) AMD Opteron 800 Series
Processors, the Thunder K8QS Pro (S4882) enables customers to deliver scalable solutions along with astounding processor performance.
The Thunder K8QS Pro (S4882) embodies the latest in server technologies
available today. With the ability to support multiple HyperTransport links in the AMD Opteron 800 Series Processor, customers are provided a cost-efficient 2-way to 4-way processor migration, a new level of
computing expandability that also provides high-bandwidth connectivity and multiple storage options. Integrated features of the Thunder K8QS Pro also include support for up to 32GB of DDR400 (PC3200) Registered ECC
memory for server-class reliability, dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports, PCI-X 133MHz and legacy PCI support, dual-channel U320 SCSI, four (4) Serial ATA ports with RAID levels 0, 1, 10, all within an SSI MEB (16" x 13")
form factor.
Versatile and capable, the Thunder K8QS Pro (S4882) provides customers with the ability to keep 32-bit application investments while enabling a pathway to use of 64-bit applications and operating
systems. With the ability to simultaneously operate in both 32-bit and 64-bit modes, the Thunder K8QS Pro offers customers a wide array of options for cluster, database processing, data analysis, high-end simulation,
and any number of other server applications.
