  Overview

The Intel Celeron is an SEPP (as well as PPGA-370) type processor designed for high-performance, sub-$1200 computer systems.  Available CPU speeds include 466, 500, 533, 533A, 566, and 600 MHz.  They are ideal for high-speed mainstream office applications and internet surfing.

  Processor Features

Includes Intel MMX media enhancment

  • Integrated 128Kbyte L2 cache
  • Intel P6 microarchitecture
  • SEPP (Single edge processor package) form factor
  • Currently available only in PPGA (Plastic pin grid array) form factor with 370 pin socket
  • System bus supports multiple data transactions for more bandwidth
  • Built-in Self Test - includes testing of data cache, instruction cache and ROMS

Intel Celerons are designed with price/performance in mind.  Celeron-based systems are ideal for a wide range of small and large businesses as well as for home office.
