Tyan® launches World's First ATX motherboard for Intel® Xeon™ Processors
Tiger i7500 With Intel® E7500 Chipset Brings Industry-Leading Server Performance to ATX Format
Fremont, CA, September 30, 2002 - Tyan® today launched the industry's first ATX format, dual-processor motherboard for Intel® Xeon™ processors. Based on the Intel® E7500 chipset, the Tiger i7500 allows OEMs and Systems Integrators to build leading-edge servers based on the industry's most widely utilized form factor.
"The Tiger i7500 provides industry-leading processor, I/O, and LAN performance, while maintaining the industry-standard ATX format", stated Danny Hsu, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at Tyan. "This latest engineering feat will enable Tyan customers to achieve maximum server performance in ATX and space-restricted environments."
"The Intel Xeon processor family and the Intel E7500 chipset provide high performance, reliable and scalable building blocks for the most demanding server requirements", said Hemant Dhulla, director of Enterprise Chipset Marketing for Intel's Enterprise Platforms Group. "Tyan's new Tiger i7500 ATX server board, based on Intel building blocks, establishes a new level of server performance based on the standard ATX form factor."
The Tiger i7500 also includes dual independent PCI-X buses, Gigabit and Fast Ethernet LAN ports, and ATX12V/EPS12V universal power. The S2722GNN has four standard DIMM sockets for up to 8GB of DDR memory, while the S2722GNN-1U has two angled DIMM sockets for up to 4GB of DDR.
"By populating the Tiger i7500 S2722GNN with 8GB of Netlist DIMMs, customers can realize over $5,000 in memory cost savings, while blazing past competitive servers in performance", said Christopher Lopes, Netlist Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
The Tiger i7500 is currently sampling, and will reach volume production in October 2002.
