FREMONT, CA, USA, July 25th, 2005 - With the number of network customers growing everyday in many different regions, customers are faced with an equally growing need for supply of servers to answer the need for more system bandwidth. To that end, Tyan is introducing the Transport GT20 and Transport GT24: instant barebones servers that can be easily configured and integrated into a wide range of server environments with a minimum amount of set-up time.

The Transport GT20 and GT24 both incorporate a tool-less chassis design, with "push-tray" slim CD-ROM and optional DVD and FDD kits, hot-swap SCSI or SATA drive bays, latched expansion ports and other modular system components.
The first Transport GT20 and GT24 models will include the following:
  • Transport GT20 (B5151)
    - Based on single Intel® Pentium® 4 800FSB processor
    - 17.2" width, 1.72" height, 22.4" depth
    - (4) Hot-swap SATA drive bays
    - 500W Power Supply and much more

  • Transport GT20 (B5350)
    - Based on dual Intel Xeon™ 800FSB processors
    - 17.2" width, 1.72" height, 22.4" depth
    - (4) Hot-swap SATA drive bays
    - 500W Power Supply and much more

  • Transport GT24 (B2891)
    - Based on dual AMD Opteron™ 200 series single/dual core processors
    - 17.2" width, 1.72" height, 25.4" depth
    - (4) Hot-swap SATA or SCSI drive bays
    - 500W Power Supply and much more

In addition, all three Transport models have the following standard features:

  • Slim CD-ROM and FDD bay support (DVD-ROM optional)
  • Tool-less and screw-less chassis and major component design
  • Service and support-centric modular backplane and storage design
  • Bezel and LCD module customization options
  • . . . and much more!

Other excellent features on the system-level include support for PC3200/2700/2100-type Registered Memory with ECC support (and ChipKill with Opteron processors in select memory configurations), and hardware activity monitoring and control for components such as the fans and VRMs. All of this is backed by full parts, service and support policy from Tyan.

"Functionality, efficiency, and performance are some of the top concerns for today's server builders," said Allen Liu, Tyan's Director of System Development Division. "By introducing the Transport GT20 and GT24 barebones server solutions, Tyan has provided the answer to faster turn-around on server builds with features that should meet or exceed customer expectations."

The Transport GT20 and GT24 server solutions are currently shipping and available worldwide.
