TYAN® Delivers a New 64-Bit Quad AMD Opteron™ Server that Will Shape Industries
Tyan's Transport TX46 (B4882T46) 2U System Provides 4-Way Performance with 64-Bit Power
Fremont, CA, June 2nd, 2004 - Tyan engaged the server market with the powerful new Transport TX46 (B4882T46), the latest 2U barebones server using the powerful abilities of the AMD Opteron™ 800 Series Processor in a 4-way configuration. Expected market segments to embrace this exciting solution would be those of clustering, network data processing, interactive entertainment delivery, and other markets that need the capability of 64-bit computations at an entry-level price.
The design of the Transport TX46 involves concepts of both form and function, with two (2) hot-swap SCSI drive bays, a slim CD-ROM drive and support for an additional slim FDD, multiple rear PCI-X and PCI ports for great system expandability, front accessible dual USB ports, a full range of front LED system status indicators and switches, plus an aggressive internal cooling system and 700W power supply with PFC, all enclosed into an incredible 2U form factor box with tool-less accessibility for quick and easy maintenance.
The use of HyperTransport™ technology as well as a low latency memory configuration and full 64-bit power provides the Transport TX46 (B4882T46) barebones system with a wide range of performance options without requiring customers to spend a lot of time to set up this server. System-level capabilities include quad AMD Opteron™ 800 Series Processor support, up to 32GB of DDR400 (PC3200) Registered memory with ECC for high stability, integrated dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, onboard ATI® RAGE XL™ video, an incredible range of power management functions, and PCI-X 133MHz expandability and performance.
"Customers need a powerful server solution with the capability to answer their increased processing needs," said Danny Hsu, Senior Director of Marketing at Tyan. "Tyan has answered that call with the introduction of our Transport TX46 (B4882T46) barebones 2U server."
The Transport TX46 (B4882T46) will be sampling at the beginning of Q3 of this year.
