TYAN® releases the Tomcat i875P (S5102), A value server solution in ATX
The Tomcat i875P Supports Serial ATA, Gigabit Ethernet, and More
Fremont, CA, September 8th, 2003 - Tyan® today unleashed the Tomcat i875P (S5102), a new server platform for the value server market. Based on the Intel® 875P chipset and the Pentium® 4 processor, the Tomcat i875P is a competitive offering for the 1U rackmount server industry. With its compact ATX form factor and many onboard features, the Tomcat i875P (S5102) is an intelligent and valuable choice for the budget-conscious.
The Tomcat i875P (S5102) has high-performance features in network connectivity, storage, and other essential server needs. Two Gigabit Ethernet LANs and one Fast Ethernet LAN satisfy high bandwidth and speed requirements. Integrated Serial ATA RAID with RAID 0, 1, 0 + 1 support enables an incredible amount of data storage in flexible and secure ways. In addition, the Tomcat i875P (S5102) is equipped with integrated ATI® RAGE™ XL graphics controller and IPMI remote management capabilities through the Tyan Server Management Daughter Card (SMDC).
The comprehensive feature set of the Tomcat i875P (S5102) fits conveniently in an ATX form factor. The cost-saving advantages for an ATX form factor are a result of its small size: the flexibility to fit in almost any type of chassis, power supplies, and provide lower overall production costs to system builders.
"Designed from one of Intel's newest chipsets, the Tomcat i875P (S5102) provides leading-edge performance for an overall cost-efficient price," said Danny Hsu, Senior Director of Marketing at Tyan. "The Tomcat i875P (S5102) provides exceptional value for users in search of the perfect value and mid-range server."
The Tomcat i875P (S5102) is currently sampling and will reach mass production by October.
