Tyan® adds Three new barebones systems to the Transport server solution line
Barebones Solutions Available in 1U and 2U Configurations
Fremont, CA, June 13th, 2003 - Tyan® today announced three additions to the Transport line of cutting-edge, compact, and cost-efficient barebones servers. Powered by motherboards with Intel® and AMD chipsets, the Transport GS10, GX28, and TX28 offer a variety of mission-critical functions based on the best server technology available.
The Intel® 845E chipset based Transport GS10 is a 1U optimized server barebones system for the value market. Ideal applications for the GS10 are web hosting, small business servers, print servers, load balancing servers, and firewall/VPN gateways. Cost efficient benefits include a space-saving 1U design to allow up to forty servers in just one standard rackmount cabinet, an easy to operate administrative software package that eliminates the need for extra MIS maintenance, and Linux Operating System compatibility.
The Transport GX28 is exemplary for functions such as e-commerce, 3-D rendering, CAD, email servers, and video servers. The Transport GX28 is a 1U optimized solution that supports two 64-bit AMD Opteron™ processors, four Ultra320 Hot-Swappable hard disk drive bays, six DIMMS for up to 12GB of ECC memory, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, and strategic cable routing arrangements for optimal air flow.
Based on AMD Opteron™ technology, the Transport TX28 is a 2U optimized rackmount that delivers versatility and dependability. Supporting six Ultra320 Hot-Swappable hard disk drive bays, dual Gigabit Ethernet connections with teaming and load balancing functionalities, and a 64-bit riser card that accommodates three PCI expansion slots, this solution is excellent for database and 3-D rendering applications.
