Tyan's Groundbreaking Dual AMD System Board Garners Best of Show Honors in Taiwan
Fremont, CA, June 21, 2001 – Tyan® Computer Corporation is pleased to announce that their new Thunder K7 dual AMD platform has been recognized with the "Best of Computex" (Motherboard Category) award at this years show in Taiwan. The Thunder K7 S2462 system board is the world's first dual-processor DDR-based platform for AMD's new line of AMD Athlon™ MP processors for servers and workstations.
Tyan, a leading designer and manufacturer of Internet infrastructure products and system board solutions, is the first supplier of system boards using the new AMD-760™ MP chipset. The Thunder K7 is the first platform to offer users an alternative solution in the dual-processor market.
The Best of Computex Taipei 2001 Awards are organized by the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), China External Trade Development Council (CETRA), and Japan's Nikkei Byte and Nikkei WinPC publications. The awards are highly competitive, as Nikkei Byte editors scour a field of over 300 hardware and software products to find 21 finalists. Only one winner was selected from each of seven categories to represent the show's best products. Our Thunder K7 was recognized in the motherboard category.
