FREMONT, CA, March 6th, 2006 - Today's launch by AMD
of their new AMD Opteron x85 line of server/workstation processors marks a continued gain in multi-core technology offerings by AMD into several markets and applications. With the launch these new exciting processor models, Tyan is re-affirming its commitment to enabling customers to becoming technology leaders by supporting the new AMD Opteron x85 models on current and upcoming Socket 940 server and workstation motherboards, as well as Tyan's stellar line of barebones server solutions products.
There are numerous advantages offered by the AMD Opteron processor which are leveraged by Tyan platforms to deliver incredible performance-per-watt features and the speed to meet customer application demands. The prime feature set of AMD's Opteron processor family include technology such as AMD PowerNow!™, which provides maximized power savings for high-density populations of servers and workstations, significantly saving customers much in cost overhead per unit installation and per site. Another key feature is multi-core support which delivers the performance needed to run everything from DCC to E&P simulation and modeling applications and much more, at speeds and efficiency ratios previously unavailable in single core models.
"Today's launch by AMD of their AMD Opteron 885, 285, and 185 processors represents a continued outlook for AMD to providing customers with performance solutions for every segment," said Danny Hsu, VP of Sales and Marketing at Tyan Computer Corporation. "Tyan is committed to enabling customer leadership by offering them the latest technology available in servers, workstations, and barebones server solutions, and with this announcement of support for the new speed grades in the AMD Opteron family on current and upcoming Socket 940 products, Tyan is continuing to fulfill its promise to enable and support customer leadership through the use of Tyan products."
