FREMONT, California, May 26, 1998 - Tyan® Computer Corp., which was named the 19th fastest growing privately-held company in the U.S. by INC. Magazine in its 1997 annual INC.500 list, today announced the company is expanding and relocating its international headquarters to Fremont.
Tyan, previously headquartered in Milpitas and spread out over three sites, will occupy a larger 55,000 square foot facility at 3288 Laurelview Court in Fremont. Tyan has approximately 72 employees in the U.S., and 80 employees worldwide.
"Rapid growth and success in our markets simply caused us to outgrow our current facility," said Symon Chang, Tyan CEO, chairman, and founder. "Our new headquarters are much larger and will allow us to continue to provide our customers with the highest standards, controls and quality, from manufacturing to customer service."
Founded in July of 1989, Tyan has become one of the world's leading developers of motherboards. These products support a wide range of applications and solutions -- from single and multi-processor desktop and PC workstations, to higher-end workstations and servers. Tyan's products are sold to OEMs, system integrators, VARs, and resellers.
The U.S.-based company is known for its quality and its ability to be on the leading edge of technology. Computer trade magazines Computer Reseller News and Computer Shopper surveys found Tyan rated in the top three most requested motherboards.
Tyan's commitment to quality is reflected in its ISO 9001 certification and ISO 9002 approval. ISO 9001 is awarded for business and quality practices, such as design, development and customer service. ISO 9002 certification is awarded for manufacturing facilities. Tyan's manufacturing facilities have been ISO 9002 certified since April, 1993. ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a consortium of nearly all industrialized nations whose mission is to develop and promote internally recognized standards. ISO certification means that a compliant company has passed very strict tests and qualifications for quality and standards.
