FREMONT, California, February 2, 1998 - Tyan® Computer Corp., which was recently named the 19th fastest growing privately held company in the U.S. by INC. Magazine, today announced that it has received ISO 9001 certification.
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a consortium of nearly all industrialized nations whose mission is to develop and promote internally recognized standards. ISO 9001 certification means that a compliant company has passed very strict tests and qualifications for quality and standards.
ISO 9001 is awarded for business and quality practices, such as design, development and customer service. ISO 9002 certification is awarded for manufacturing facilities. Tyan's manufacturing facilities have been ISO 9002 certified since April, 1993.
"ISO 9001 certification is a great honor for Tyan since we have met very strict documentation and on-site inspections," noted Symon Chang, Tyan CEO and chairman. "More importantly, it assures our customers that the highest international standards and controls and quality are applied to Tyan's entire operation, from manufacturing to customer service."
Tyan provides a complete family of Pentium-II class and Socket 7 motherboards based on Intel's, and the industry's latest chipsets.
