TYAN RELEASES RACKMOUNT ENCLOSURES

Rackmount chassis enclosures from Tyan encompass Rich Features and Robust Functionality

FREMONT, CA, January 20th, 2006 - In many situations the system build process requires careful sourcing of multiple components, each of which may or may not be compatible with the configuration necessary to meet customer requirements. Of these components, the chassis enclosure holds one of the most key aspects of the system, representing the overall structure where many of the system components will be laid out. To this end, Tyan is releasing a chassis enclosure product line in order to meet system builder requirements for a pre-qualified enclosure as well as to reduce system build time overall.

The first in Tyan's chassis kit line will be the KGT20 and KGT24, both models of which are being used for the popular Transport barebones server product line. Some of the exciting features of both chassis are:

KGT20
     - 22.4" depth, built-in power supply
     - Includes rail kit (standard)
     - Up to four (4) SATA, SCSI, or SAS hard drive devices
     - Lockable front bezel option

KGT24
     - 25.4" depth, built-in power supply
     - Includes rail kit (standard)
     - Up to four (4) SATA, SCSI, or SAS hard drive devices
     - Lockable front bezel option

"System builders often spend a good deal of time both sourcing and qualifying components depending on the project application," said Danny Hsu, VP of Sales and Marketing at Tyan. "By introducing a family of chassis products which are pre-qualified with Tyan motherboards, Tyan is offering an alternative to long qualification periods on chassis components, and thus shorter build times"

The KGT20 and KGT24 are both currently sampling, and will reach mass availability in late Q1'06.
