Fremont, CA, February 20th, 2004 - Tyan® today released the latest in dual 64-bit processor based 1U rackmount server system, the Transport GX28 (B2882). Tested and validated by AMD, the Transport GX28 (B2882) is designed for compute-intensive graphics applications and memory-bound applications in High Power Computing.
Designed with easy-to-access features in a sturdy aluminum chassis, the Transport GX28 (B2882) is uniquely engineered to cater to many mission critical server needs. The system includes two Hot-Swappable Serial ATA drive bays, pre-installed Slim CD-ROM and a 3.5" floppy disk drive, smart auto fan speed control, and a special air duct for optimal thermal solution. The Transport GX28 (B2882) includes an EPS12V 400W power supply with power factor correction, ensuring the best electrical efficiency in the unit.
The AMD Opteron™ processor based Transport GX28 (B2882) provides high memory bandwidth with low latency, cutting edge 64-bit processing capabilities, and incredible I/O bandwidth defined by the 64-bit computing architecture and HyperTransport™ technology. Accommodations include eight DIMM sockets to support up to 16GB of DDR400 memory, Hot-Swappable SATA hard disk drives with RAID 0,1 functionality, dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and one Fast Ethernet LAN port, and a 133MHz PCI-X expansion slot.
