TYAN Demonstrates High Performance Computing Solutions at Supercomputing 2010

Intel® Xeon® Processor-Based Solutions with Eight NVIDIA® Tesla™ GPU Computing Processors

SC’10, New Orleans, LA November 17, 2010 TYAN, an industry-leading server platform manufacturer, and a subsidiary of MiTAC International Corp., is demonstrating its full array of Intel® Xeon® processor-based platforms targeting HPC, Cloud Computing, and GPU Computing during Supercomputing 2010 (SC’10).

TYAN is showcasing three high-end server platforms supporting Intel Xeon 5500/5600 processors series (codename: Nehalem/Westmere) at SC’10 in booth # 1659. Kevin Hart, TYAN’s director of product marketing, noted that “TYAN is demonstrating its leadership in HPC and GPU Computing with a full selection of Xeon processor-based server platforms, including a 4U rack-mount server that features up to eight NVIDIA Tesla 20-series GPU computing processors.”

Also on display is TYAN’s latest high-density solution that features 4 nodes in a 2U form factor. The YR290-B7008-X4 supports the Intel Xeon 5500/5600 series processors and (16) 2.5-inch hot-swap HDD to provide a high node density and effective price/performance for customers requiring scalable, space-saving servers.

The YR190-B7017-X4 and YR290-B7018-D2 are both expandable dual-node platforms. The YR190-B7017-X4 fits 2 nodes in a 1U chassis to deliver greater computing density, while the YR290-B7018-D2 contains 2 nodes in a 2U chassis that supports total (16) 2.5-inch hot-swap HDDs to deliver powerful storage capacity. Both of these are designed for high density installations such as Internet Portal Data Centers (IPDC).

For GPU-intensive HPC applications, the TYAN FT48-B7025, FT72-B7015, and FT77-B7015 are designed to support four or eight GPGPU compute cards to dramatically accelerate calculation intensive applications such as data warehousing, biological simulation, transaction processing, climate modeling, seismic analysis and computational fluid dynamics.

All of the above Intel based platforms showcased at SC’10 are available worldwide through TYAN’s authorized distributors. Please visit www.tyan.com for more information.
