TYAN® ANNOUNCES NEW TIGER DUAL-PROCESSOR SYSTEM BOARDS

Tiger 200T and Tiger 230T Support New Intel Pentium III Processor With 512kB Cache

Fremont, CA, August 20, 2001 – Tyan® Computer Corporation today announced that it has initiated shipments of two of it's latest dual CPU platforms for the Intel® Pentium® III processor. The new Tiger 200T and Tiger 230T system boards also support the new Pentium® III Processor with 512kB Cache, formerly known as "Tualatin". These latest Intel processors feature an expanded L2 cache and reach higher clock speeds than their predecessors, providing new performance gains for entry-level server and workstation applications.

Tyan, a leading designer and manufacturer of Internet infrastructure products and system board solutions, is currently one of only a handful of system board manufacturers shipping multiple solutions for these new Intel processors. The Tiger 200T is primarily for the entry-level server market, while the Tiger 230T is ideal for the entry-level workstation and performance desktop markets. Both platforms are based on the Apollo Pro133T chipset from VIA Technologies, Inc.

"The Tiger 200T and Tiger 230T dual-processor platforms once again prove Tyan's time-to-market leadership," stated Danny Hsu, Director of Strategic Marketing at Tyan. "With support for the higher clock speeds and expanded cache found in the new Pentium III Processor with 512kB Cache, our new Tiger system boards are ideal for customers looking to build cost-effective, performance servers and workstations."
