Tyan Introduces Two Classic Server Boards - Now Upgraded for AMD Dual Core Support
FREMONT, CA, May 10th, 2005 - Today, With the advent of AMD's Dual Core technology, customers are set to realize levels of performance never before seen in server and workstation platforms. To herald the arrival of this incredible technology, Tyan has refreshed two classic server motherboards for dual core readiness: introducing the Thunder K8SD Pro (S2882-D) and Thunder K8QSD Pro (S4882-D).
The Thunder K8SD Pro (S2882-D) is designed for 2-way AMD Opteron™ 200 series support with dual and single core capabilities, while the Thunder K8QSD Pro (S4882-D) offers 4-way AMD Opteron 800 series support, also with dual and single core capabilities. Both offer a great range of features including:
- AMD Dual and Single Core capabilities, and 32/64-bit scalability
- AMD-8131 and AMD-8111 time-proven core-logic components
- Support for Registered DDR400/333 with ECC and ChipKill features
