Trinity GC-SL features Broadcom's ServerWorks™ Grand Champion™ SL Core Logic; provides outstanding performance for entry-level servers
Fremont, CA, June 10, 2002 - Tyan® Computer Corporation today unveiled its new Trinity GC-SL, one of the industry's first system boards to utilize the new Grand Champion™ SL (GC-SL) core logic from Broadcom's ServerWorks™. This compact system board provides exceptional processor, memory and I/O performance in an ATX form factor – ideal for OEMs and System Integrators building high-performance, cost-effective front-end servers.
Tyan, a leading designer and developer of Internet infrastructure products, a week ago also announced its Thunder GC-HE, based on the ServerWorks™ Grand Champion™ HE core logic. These two announcements, coupled with the expected summer launch of the company's Grand Champion LE™-based platform, provide Tyan with a formidable lineup of high-performance platforms for the entry, midrange, and enterprise server markets.
Supporting the latest Intel® Pentium® 4 processor, the Trinity GC-SL features front-side bus speeds up to 533MHz, both 133MHz and 66MHz PCI-X slots, and accepts up to 4 gigabytes of DDR memory. It also features integrated ATI® graphics, Ultra160 SCSI and ATA-133 IDE RAID storage options, Gigabit and Fast Ethernet connectivity options (including the option of having up to two Gigabit ports), and much more.
"Our new Trinity GC-SL system board brings high-performance processor, memory, and I/O technology to the entry-level server market" stated Danny Hsu, Director of Marketing at Tyan. "Based on Grand Champion SL core logic technology from ServerWorks, Tyan customers can now offer cost-effective, single-processor server platforms without sacrificing CPU and I/O performance."
"Utilizing ServerWorks' groundbreaking Grand Champion architecture, the new GC-SL core logic enables cost-effective, high-performance server platforms such as Tyan's Trinity GC-SL", stated Kimball Brown, ServerWorks' Vice President of Business Development. "ServerWorks and Tyan continue to work closely together to bring to market robust platforms for mission-critical server environments."
The Trinity GC-SL is expected to begin sampling in July, with production expected in August.
